Columbus Take Over

​
BACKGROUND:  Columbus Take Over was founded by Jennifer B. Winbush in 2014 as an outlet to give back to the community by uniting other leaders in ministry, community, political etc. together.
 
This event is held in different parts of the Columbus Metropolitan Area each year and services all that wish to attend.   CTO gives away free bookbags with supplies to school age kids from K-12 grades, provide kids activities, a free meal to all who attend and free clothing for those in need. There is also free giveaways and family friendly entertainment.
 
  • 2014 Northside of Columbus was the first event in the Weinland Park  300 people in attendance. Distributed 300 meals and free clothing.
  • 2015 Eastside of Columbus Main St. and Kelton Ave. area assisted distributed School Supplies and free meals. 900 or more people in attendance.
  • 2016 Westside of Columbus  W. Broad St. and S. Central Ave, 300 people in attendance. Distributed 300 meals.
  • 2017 South side of Columbus Lockbourne and Smith Rd 700 individuals or more in attendance. Distributed 300 book bags with supplies, free meals, and produce.
  • 2018 Central Genoa Park/Gospelfest  Distributed 400 Bookbags with supplies 1,500 people in attendance.
  • 2019 Bethel A.M.E. Church Distributed 200 Bookbags with supplies and free meals. 500 people in attendance. 2019 Genoa Park distributed 200 bookbags with supplies and giveaways at the Columbus Gospelfest. 
  • 2020 Far-Eastside Channingway Dr. Distributed 400 book bags with supplies and meals.  Drive-by due to Covid.
  • 2021 Franklinton W. Town St. Distributed 400+ bookbags, 200 Computer Bags, 300 Toys, and meals
  • 2022 Mayme Moor Park.  Distributed 400+bookbags with supplies, produce, clothing and meals.   500 + in attendance
  • 2023 Central Genoa Park/Columbus Gospelfest Distributed underwear to 400 individuals, 300+ toys to children.  1,500 in attendance
  • 2024 Central Genoa Park/Columbus Gospelfest: Distributed household Items to $250 Families, 300 pairs of shoes and 300 toys to children.

VISION STATEMENT: The vision of The COMMUNITY OUTREACH event is to unite organization/individuals in the City of Columbus to provide services, spiritual guidance and motivation encouragement to the family/individuals in the community. This event promotes unity by our leaders (church, political, organization, individuals) who seek to make a change and give back to the community.

 

 

MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the Community  event is to empower families/individuals in the community by promoting family values and establishing involvement by our community leaders or individuals.
